G. Fellowship - process

Animation for the process of 

A little explanation for each step:

1) Cleaned up sketch. The first one was very rough, so I made a new layer and went over it (like linearting, but more sketchy). This is going to be a lineless picture, so this step was not really necessary

2) Base colours. Flat colouring, with no lines already. This is just the idea of how it's going to be. The character is in a different layer.

3) Lighting and grass. I usually draw the main light source in a layer on the top ("luminosity" layer option) before shading. I started with the background instead of the character this time. Here you have some grass.

4) Trunk texture and raccoon base. I know trunks' texture isn't like that but well, It gave an interesting effect lol. I also changed the light's colour a little.

5) Trunk details. Added shades to it and some kind of... lichens/leaves or just "plants" xD

6) Background. Made the rest of the trunks (less opacity when they're far) and ferns. I did one fern and copied & pasted it with slight changes (too lazy to go one by one)

7) Characters. I made new layers for their details and started shading the characters. Not much to say really, this is just practising

8) Detailing. It's lineless art so, to make it look better, I outlined most things with a bright colour so that the characters can't be confused with the background. I added the last adjustements and... finished!
